(01)About

Quiet tools for critical systems.

Portrait of Priyatham Rathod, looking to the side, in front of trees

Hi, I’m Priyatham.

Full Stack Web Developer · NSE · India

I'm a full stack developer drawn to the quiet, important problems — the tools that keep critical infrastructure honest. At NSE I design and build the platforms 150+ infrastructure engineers rely on to monitor, audit and remediate thousands of servers, with security and clarity designed in from day one.

My day-to-day spans Python (Django, FastAPI, Flask) on the backend, Angular on the frontend, and Ansible and Jenkins underneath — turning slow, manual operations into dashboards and automated workflows people actually enjoy using.

I studied Computer Science at VNIT Nagpur and still build machine learning projects on the side — from a self-driving car agent trained with deep reinforcement learning to an NLP chatbot.

Configuration Drift Management Platform

An in-house auditing platform that keeps 2,000+ data-centre and disaster-recovery server pairs in lock-step.

2,000+DC/DR server pairs audited daily, hands-free

The problem

Every production server at NSE has a disaster-recovery (DR) twin. If their configurations drift apart, DR readiness is at risk — and comparing 2,000+ pairs across Linux, Windows, network and storage by hand does not scale.

My role

Led the full-stack build: about 70% of the backend and the entire UI.

How it works

  1. 01Schedule

Jenkins triggers the audit every day, with no manual steps.

  2. 02Collect

Ansible polls configurations from 2,000+ DC and DR servers.

  3. 03Compare

A high-performance Python regex engine finds gaps across Linux, network, Windows and storage.

  4. 04Report

An Angular dashboard with Highcharts shows 6-month trends and drift by technology.

Outcomes

  • 2,000+ DC/DR server pairs audited every day, hands-free
  • Drift percentages by technology for executive stakeholders
  • Disaster-recovery readiness tracked continuously instead of in spot checks
  • Python
  • Angular
  • Highcharts
  • Ansible
  • Jenkins

Unified Management Dashboard

A central portal where Linux, firewall and storage teams monitor devices and run their own service catalogues.

80%Less manual inspection of firewall devices

The problem

Linux, firewall and storage teams each needed to watch their own devices and run their own services, and firewall health checks were largely manual.

My role

Architected the firewall health monitoring and the remediation flow, and designed and built the Angular UI from scratch.

How it works

  1. 01Monitor

Ansible-triggered health checks report firewall status in real time.

  2. 02Request

When a device misbehaves, a user raises a remediation request from the portal.

  3. 03Approve

L1 and L2 approvals gate every recovery.

  4. 04Recover

The device is recovered automatically and an email audit trail goes out.

Outcomes

  • 80% less time spent on manual firewall inspection
  • JWT-based RBAC plus session-tracked audit logs on every API call and export
  • One portal for the Linux, firewall and storage teams’ service catalogues
  • Angular
  • Python
  • Ansible
  • JWT
  • RBAC

IT Asset Management Tool

A system for tracking IT assets across the organisation, modernised with live dashboards and faster admin.

95%Faster role modifications for 150+ team members

The problem

The organisation’s IT asset system was legacy code: changes in asset status were hard to spot, and updating roles for 150+ team members was slow.

My role

Modernised the legacy codebase with live dashboards, real-time admin tooling and automated reporting.

How it works

  1. 01Track

Dynamic dashboard cards surface asset-status changes within a 24-hour window.

  2. 02Administer

    A real-time user-management module with an action-driven interface.

  3. 03Sync

Role changes are written to MySQL instantly.

  4. 04Export

Python tooling exports asset datasets to Excel for audits and planning.

Outcomes

  • 95% faster role modifications for 150+ team members
  • Immediate visibility into inventory changes
  • Audit-ready Excel exports for the management team
  • Python
  • MySQL
  • Dashboards
  • Excel automation

Machine learning

Self-Driving Car AI

A simulated car that teaches itself to drive. A PyTorch deep Q-network reads three sensors and the car’s heading, learns from replayed experience, and steers around obstacles you draw on the map.

The problem

Teach a car to drive between two goals and around obstacles without writing any driving rules — it has to learn purely from rewards.

My role

Personal project: implemented the deep Q-learning agent in PyTorch and trained it in a Kivy simulation.

How it works

  1. 01Sense

Three sensors measure obstacles ahead, to the left and to the right; with the heading to the goal they form a 5-value state.

  2. 02Decide

A neural network (5 → 30 → 3) scores three actions: straight, or turn 20° left or right. Softmax sampling keeps it exploring.

  3. 03Reward

−1 for hitting obstacles or walls, +0.1 for getting closer to the goal, −0.2 otherwise.

  4. 04Learn

Transitions go into a 100,000-step replay memory; batches of 100 train the network with Adam (γ = 0.9).

The network

Front sensorLeft sensorRight sensorHeading−Heading30 ReLU unitsStraightLeft 20°Right 20°State (5)Q-values (3)
Each step, the network scores the three actions. A softmax over those Q-values picks the move, so the car keeps exploring while it learns; the highlighted action cycles here for illustration.

Outcomes

  • Learns to reach alternating goals while steering around obstacles drawn on the map
  • Experience replay and a smooth L1 loss keep training stable
  • The trained “brain” is saved and reloaded between runs
